The winter lanterns are glowing
Through the curtain of mist
The breeze carries white drops of snow
To paint the evening with silver
The road goes towards the horizon
Disappears in the woods where,
The night stitches her magic gown,
For her dance with the shadows
Venus and stars made ornaments
The moon weaves the veil for her
The sky braids her hair with clouds
Gives a lining of silver appliqué
Long shadows like hags awaits her
For the show stretches their sharp claws
Circles and circles like a tornado,
Welcome her in a mood of delirium.
The frenzied spirits hide behind the shadows
Demand for their part in the performance,
Takes out their magic wands and whirl it
To mesmerise for coming their side
When the twilight starts to perch
In the vestibule of the night
The long shadows like an octopus
Covers the land to make their world
Their sovereignty only last for night,
When the dawn awakens in the east
With his golden casket from the sleep
Drives away those shadows from the sight.
